More than 300,000 personal records compromised in CU Boulder data breach

BOULDER, Colo. (KKTV) – The University of Colorado is dealing with what may be the largest data breach that comprimised personal records in the universities history. That’s according to our news partners at CBS Denver.

On Friday, the university announced more than 310,000 university records were comprimised. This reportedly includes grades, transcripts, visa and disability status, medical and prescription information, and social security numbers.

The personal data of more than 533 million users from 106 countries has been leaked and published online. That includes Facebook IDs, full names, locations, phone numbers, birthdates, and email addresses of more than 32 million people in the US.

A user in a hacking forum has published the phone numbers and personal data of hundreds of millions of Facebook users for free online, Business Insider reported Saturday.

The exposed data includes personal information of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries, including over 32 million records on users in the US, 11 million on users in the UK, and 6 million on users in India.
