Statewide small business program offers many benefits | Southernminnbiz

Local businesses have a litany of resources at their disposal thanks to Small Business Development Centers throughout the state.

The centers offer free access to capital, loan packaging, financial analysis and assessments, accounting systems and literacy, marketing and research, marketing plan development, feasibility analysis, startup assistance and business plan development.

The centers, offered through the U.S. Small Business Administration, operates a state office and more than 15 satellite centers. Regional offices in Minnesota are in Bemidji, Brainerd, Duluth, Mankato, Marshall, Minneapolis, Moorhead, Rochester and St. Cloud.

There’s something for everyone with private health insurance in the American Rescue Plan Act, but determining the best way to benefit may be confusing.

The $1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief law that President Joe Biden signed this month will make coverage significantly more affordable for millions of people who either who have marketplace coverage, are uninsured or have lost their employer coverage. In addition, it will eliminate repayment requirements for premium tax credits. Consumers can begin to see those improvements next month, but they may need to go to healthcare.gov and update their application for the changes to take effect then.

Biden stimulus plan offers less help for small businesses

The Biden administration acknowledges that small businesses continue to face an “immediate crisis” because of the economic fallout from the coronavirus. Yet the American Rescue Plan — the $1.9 trillion emergency relief package that President Joe Biden helped push through Congress with Democratic lawmakers — provides far less support to small businesses than previous rounds of pandemic relief.

American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 offers billions more in small-business grants

Millions of small businesses could be eligible for new or beefed-up grant programs if some of the provisions in the House-passed Covid-19 relief bill become law.

The grants, part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 passed by the House on Saturday, would still need to be considered in the Senate version of the legislation and passed by Congress before heading to President Joe Biden for his signature. And parts of the legislation might already be in jeopardy, with Democrats dealing with a setback on a $15-per-hour minimum wage that will likely prevent its inclusion in the Senate version.

Elon Musk offers money to help Dogecoin become ‘currency of the internet’

Elon Musk has said he will buy out major Dogecoin holders in order to help make the fringe cryptocurrency the “currency of the internet”.

The SpaceX and Tesla CEO, who overtook Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to become the world’s richest person last month, posted several tweets criticising the so-called crypto whales who hoard large stockpiles of Dogecoin.
