Deion Sanders’ Jackson State debut takes strange turn after coach says personal items were ‘stolen’

Deion Sanders’ college football coaching debut Sunday ended badly, and then weirdly.

The Jackson State coach told reporters following his team’s game that his belongings had been taken from his stadium office. About an hour later, an unnamed university official told Jackson, Miss., TV station WAPT that the items were “misplaced” and then recovered.

Sanders, however, repeated that he had been robbed, going against Jackson State’s account. He also added that the thief was caught in the act.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders said after his Jackson State coaching debut on Sunday that his personal items were stolen from the coaches’ office during the Tigers’ 53-0 victory over NAIA program Edward Waters, leading him to have “mixed emotions” about the day.

“For one, the kids played really well,” a visibly upset Sanders said during his postgame news conference, before continuing. “But while the game was going on, someone came in and stole every darn thing I have in the coaches’ office. Credit cards, wallet, watches. Thank god I had on my necklaces.”

Laurens County women found with stolen mail, packages and personal information, deputies say

Two Upstate women were found in a car with stolen mail and packages as well as a binder full of personal information from multiple people, according to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. Kayla Rae Bradberry and Patricia Ann Harvey were pulled over at 2 a.m. Sunday, deputies said.
